Janet Brennan, D.V.M - Veterinarian
Dr. Janet M. Brennan is the director of the Animal Hospital of Soquel, a certified American Animal
Hospital Association (AAHA) facility since 1971. She is a native of San Francisco, graduate of the
University of California at Davis and has been in practice since 1969 in Santa Cruz County.
Dr. Brennan has been a dog handler for over 30 years; a search and rescue dog trainer, instructor and
handler with the California Rescue Dog Association (CARDA) and the Monterey Bay Search Dogs (MBSD).
She is a consultant to police departments in the training, evaluation, conditioning and use of
police service dogs.
Victoria Bannerman, DVM - Veterinarian
Vicki is an east coast transplant having moved here from Annapolis, MD., where she helped manage
a clinic for 4 years. She is originally from Atlanta, GA., where she grew up and learned to speak
fluent "southern." She graduated from the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987
(how 'bout them dawgs'). Although Dr. Bannerman enjoys all phases of the veterinary profession,
her specialties are veterinary geriatrics and the care of pocket pets. Her hobbies include theater arts,
scuba diving, and international travel. She lives in the Santa Cruz mountains with her husband, three children and
multiple pets.
Marc Gherardi, DVM - Veterinarian
Marc is a graduate of University of California -- Davis.He completed his internship at the Sacramento Animal Medical Group, then started practicing veterinary medicine in the San Francisco Bay area before joining the team in Santa Cruz. In addition to his work with Animal Hospital of Soquel, Dr. Gherardi consults on a volunteer basis at the Long Marine Laboratory in Santa Cruz.
