Cheryl Homer - Hospital Manager
Cheryl has been with The Animal Hospital of Soquel for 22 years. She was born and raised in
Detroit, Michigan and moved to California in 1971. She has been a resident of Santa Cruz County
since. Cheryl started working for Animal Hospital of Soquel in 1982 as a part-time receptionist
and advanced to be the Hospital Manager. She shares her home with her husband of 34 years, George Homer,
two cats and a wonderful Pembroke Corgi named Rosie. Her outside interests include reading, gardening
and music.
Anneke Wassink- Registered Veterinary Technician
Anneke started working for Dr. Brennan as a Veterinary Assistant in 1988. She graduated
from Hartnell College in 1996 as a Registered Veterinary Technician. She works in all fields of our
hospital and assists the doctor as needed to attend to our furry patients and their companions."I switched
careers from the human medical field I had chosen in my younger years because, to me, there is nothing
better than to come together with the animals needing care; to touch their spirit; to love their being;
to be understanding and become one with their fears and joys. Many lovely four-footed friends have
shared my home and at this time I am graced to share my life with seven dear cats. "
Brynne Hoberg- Registered Veterinary Technician
Brynne was born in Southern California and has been a Resident of Santa Cruz for the past 34 years.
She began her career as a Registered Veterinary Technician upon graduation from Hartnell College and has
been Working at the Animal Hospital of Soquel since. Brynne is currently enrolled at the Canine
Rehabilitation Institute for training in various aspects of animal rehabilitation. "Animals have always
been an integral part of my life even as a young child. Over the years, I have been privileged to live
with dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and mice. My life continues to be enriched daily by all the animals
that I encounter in my work as well as in my personal life.
Donalda "Doni" MacMillan, R. N.
Doni started her human health care when she graduated from Kingston General Hospital School of
Nursing(Kingston, Ontario)in 1968.She comes to the Animal Hospital of Soquel with over 30 years of hospital
nursing experience including Supervision, Management and Registered Nurse in the Coronary/Intensive
Care, Emergency Department. She was Assistant Head Nurse in the Emergency Department for 10 years.
Doni has retired from hospital nursing and brings her knowledge to the animal health care. She presently lives
in Soquel sharing her house with her 2 dogs Foxie and LaRue. Her interests are Skiing, Photography
and Travel.
Zendy Flores - Veterinary Assistant
Zendy has been working at the Animal Hospital of Soquel for three years. Zendy assists
the doctors in the examination room, surgery and radiology. She also answers the phone and works the
front desk when needed. "I am attending Veterinary Technician Classes and in 2 years I will be a Registered Veterinary
Technician. I currently have a British Bulldog as a pet by the name of Bently, which I love so very
much".
